Dancy Ants is operated by Mohamad Ghazal, a sole trader based in Lebanon (“we”, “us”). Contact: hello@dancyants.com.
By making an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use Dancy Ants.
A browser-based instrument that turns music into visuals for a projector, TV or screen. There is a free tier and there are paid tiers. Nothing is installed on your machine unless you choose to.
Dancy Ants can produce rapid flashing, strobing and high-contrast patterns. In a small number of people, including those who have never had a seizure before, these can trigger photosensitive epileptic seizures.
If you are showing these visuals to other people — at a party, an event, a venue — that responsibility is yours. Warn your audience, give people a way to avoid the room, and go easy on the strobe. If anyone watching feels dizzy, disoriented, or notices altered vision or twitching, stop immediately and get medical advice.
Do not use Dancy Ants where the law requires a warning you have not given, or where flashing effects are prohibited.
We can suspend or close an account that does these things. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will explain why first.
Everything you create — your saved Moves, your settings, shaders you write, video you record — remains yours. We claim no ownership and no licence to use it, show it, or train anything on it.
We store your work only to provide the service: to sync it between your machines and to give it back to you. Delete it and it is gone.
Dancy Ants can import shaders from sources like Shadertoy. Those are written by other people and carry their own licences. Making sure you have the right to use a shader — especially in a commercial setting — is your responsibility, not ours.
The Dancy Ants name, logo, the pixel ant, the built-in scenes, the software and the design of this site are ours. Using the service does not give you rights to any of it beyond using the product as intended.
Free means free. No card, no time limit, no trial that turns into a charge. Free output carries a Dancy Ants watermark; that watermark is how the free tier pays for itself.
Prices are shown on the site before you buy, in the currency displayed at checkout. Taxes may be added depending on where you are.
Card payments are not switched on yet. When they are, they will be handled by a third-party payment processor acting as merchant of record. We will never see or store your card details.
If a paid plan is not what you expected, email hello@dancyants.com within 14 days of buying and we will refund you in full. You do not have to justify it.
After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion — but if the product is broken in a way we cannot fix, we will not keep your money.
Cancel any time. Your plan runs until the end of the period you have paid for, then stops. We do not pro-rate part-months. Cancelling does not delete your account or your work; ask us if you want that too.
Dancy Ants runs in your browser and depends on your hardware, your browser's WebGL support, your microphone and your machine's speed. We cannot guarantee it will work perfectly on every device, or that it will never go down.
The service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose — including any specific paid gig you have booked.
If you are being paid to perform with this, have a backup. That is not a legal dodge; it is what any working VJ would tell you about any tool, ours included.
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profit, lost bookings, lost data, or damage to reputation — arising from your use of Dancy Ants.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. If you are on the free tier, that amount is zero.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit to be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
You can stop using Dancy Ants and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or if we stop running the service.
If we ever shut Dancy Ants down, we will give account holders at least 30 days' notice and a way to export their work before anything is deleted.
We may update these terms. For changes that meaningfully affect you, we will email account holders rather than quietly editing this page. Carrying on using the service after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, this does not deprive you of the protections of your own country's law.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Questions about any of this? Write to hello@dancyants.com — a person reads it.
